Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Banners City collects, why, and what you can do about it. The data controller is the company named on the Contact page; that page also gives the address for privacy requests.

What we collect

  • Contact data: your email address and the name or company name you give us.
  • Request and placement data: the cells you chose, the banner you uploaded, the destination link, the categories, your comments, the billing type and the price.
  • Consent records: the date and time you accepted the terms of service and this policy.
  • Payment data: the payment identifier, amount, currency and status received from the payment provider. Card numbers, CVC codes and PayPal credentials never reach our servers — they are entered on the provider’s own page.
  • Statistics: how many times a banner was shown and clicked, aggregated per day, and the country a click came from. We also count how many people visited the site in the last 24 hours and how many are on it right now. That count uses a one-way fingerprint of the network address and the browser, mixed with a secret that changes every day: it cannot be turned back into an address, and today’s visit cannot be linked to yesterday’s. No address and no browser string is stored, the rows are deleted after 24 hours, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.
  • Technical data needed for the site to work: the sign-in session, the chosen language and theme and, if you arrived through a partner link, the partner code.

Why we use it

  • To reserve a spot, take payment, issue receipts and keep the placement live.
  • To moderate banners and enforce the Content and advertising policy.
  • To answer support requests and send service messages such as sign-in codes and notices about a placement.
  • To show advertisers the statistics of their own placements.
  • To run the referral programme and pay partner rewards.
  • To keep accounting and tax records and to answer lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising and we do not use it to profile visitors.

Who else sees it

Only the providers we need to run the service: Dodo Payments and PayPal for payments, the email provider that delivers our messages, and the hosting and storage providers that keep the site and the uploaded files. Dodo Payments acts as merchant of record and is a controller of the payment data it collects — the billing details and the tax information it needs for the invoice — under its own privacy policy. The others process the data on our instructions and for no other purpose. Data may be stored on servers outside your country; where that happens we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers.

How long we keep it

Account and placement data are kept while the account exists and while a placement is running. Payment and accounting records are kept for the period required by tax law. Moderation decisions and complaint records are kept for as long as they may be needed to defend a claim. After that the data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a portable form. Write to the address on the Contact page — we answer within 30 days. Deleting an account releases the spots bound to it. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Security

Access to personal data inside the project is limited to the people who need it. Signing in is passwordless: we send a one-time code to your email, so keep access to that mailbox secure.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page. Material changes are announced by email to registered advertisers.
