Banners City uses the smallest set of cookies that lets the site work. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics and no tracking of visitors across other sites.
What we ask consent for
Everything listed below as necessary is set because the site cannot work without it, or because you asked for it yourself by choosing a language, a theme or a city — for these no consent is required and none is asked. Exactly one cookie needs your consent: the partner link tag. It records that you arrived through a partner’s link so that the partner can be credited if you buy a spot within the next 90 days — that is tracking, and we do not set it before you agree.
On your first visit a banner asks the question with two buttons of equal weight. If you decline, the partner tag is not set at all, the partner receives nothing for your purchase, and everything else on the site works exactly as before — declining costs you nothing. Your answer is remembered for a year in a cookie of its own; without it we would have to ask again on every page. You can change your mind at any time through the “Cookie choice” link in the footer, which brings the banner back.
What we store
- Language: the interface language you chose. Without it the site would guess the language on every visit.
- Theme: light or dark, as you selected.
- Sign-in session: for advertisers who are signed in. It disappears when you sign out.
- Partner code: if you arrived through a partner link and agreed to it, the code is remembered for 90 days so that the partner receives their reward if you buy a spot later. This is the only cookie we ask consent for.
- Cookie choice: your answer to the consent banner, kept for a year so that we do not ask again.
Cookies of others
When you pay, the payment provider — Dodo Payments or PayPal — sets its own cookies on its own pages, under its own cookie statement. The banners of advertisers are images and video served from this site; they do not run third-party tracking code.
Measuring impressions
We count how many times a banner was shown and clicked. The count is aggregated per banner per day and is not tied to a person or to a cookie.
Counting visitors
The visitor numbers shown above the grid are counted the same way — without a cookie. A one-way fingerprint of the network address and the browser, mixed with a secret that changes every day, tells us whether two page loads came from the same person within one day; it tells us nothing about who that person is, and it cannot be matched with the fingerprint of another day. The rows are deleted after 24 hours.
How to remove them
Cookies can be cleared or blocked in your browser settings. If you block them the site still works: the language is picked from the browser on every visit, the theme resets to the default and you have to sign in again.
